Hey,

Feedback on my video.

http://vimeo.com/17512155

I shot this with the 7d, one 50mm prime, one light. Did not have any crew. I was able to write, direct, shoot and edit this.

Not sure if the hand held work is too "shaky cam". I wanted it smooth but not "steady cam" so I used this rig from "HaloRig". See photo.

Thanks all :)

wow, that's pretty damn good for a one man, one lens, one light set up. I'm very impressed.
What light did you use?

Great video! Can't believe you did all this by yourself... awesome job.

If it's not a problem, can you share with us some info on what lights you used? I know you said you used a single light, which I think did a great job, but what wattage, positioning?

Any info would help out greatly. This is very inspiring!

Thank you!

OK, my thoughts:

I thought it was a little too shaky. Not to say that it wasn't an acceptable level, but I didn't feel like this video benefited from the shakyness. During the concert part it wasn't an issue, but when we see the different dates, it took away from it a little bit.

The wide angle push in at 50 seconds seemed very out of place. That was one of the only parts of the video to me that didn't feel professional, and just came out of nowhere.

At 2:50 you jump back into the concert footage, only to show us two different closeups of guitars without seeing the faces of the players, and then back to the story footage. That seemed a little off, and I would have rather just seen more story footage, or closeup of the singer.

That is what I noticed when watching it once through. Overall I thought it was very well done!

Looks fantastic! Please do share any tips or issues you had while shooting. I'm gonna be doing my video soon with pretty much the same constraints, so would be great to hear some of your experiences.
