Hey All,

This is a music video I shot a ways back on the T2i.

It has tons of exposure problems. But I guess that is what learning is for.

Feel free to comment and critique. Suggestions and thoughts make me a better filmmaker so I welcome them.

Thanks.

First and foremost I truly believe this happens with not being in tune with the music. IMO this song is not good and you personally do not like it. Your vision with this video reflects that. You mention in your vimeo profile that your company is dedicated to excellent visuals and story telling.... I see some nice angles but what happened to the story telling? Just because you shoot 10+ locations or 1 doesn't matter, it's about getting the point of the story across. You by yourself only working with one artist could have came up with a very simple story line which would have added production value to your project.

A lot of things were said by the artist that could have had a lot of visual representation and I seen nothing....

The only thing this video has going for it is HD Quality, other than that it is very uninspiring and poorly directed. Sit down with an artist, write a treatment, understand why he wrote this song, etc. etc.

Go back put there and try harder next time!

I agree with most of what Life4eva wrote, the song really isn't good but that isn't something you control. I did see some good shots in there so I wouldn't say the only good thing in this video is that its HD. Take his suggestions and meet prior to the shoot and find out about the song and the artist. Come up with a story line, the best music video to me combine a short film and a music video. Try and avoid the same typical shots in a music video, rap or hiphop always have some guy walking the tracks etc....

My biggest suggestion is save your money and get yourself a light meter, learn how to use it, a good one is about $300. Also if your going to shoot exteriors, avoid bright sunlight unless you get some Neutral Density filters. good luck man and most importantly , KEEP SHOOTING.
