Music Video for Lee Kernaghan shot on the 7D

awesome man. Not quite my type of music, usually, but I can feel like this will be stuck in my head for the next month or so haha.

What were some of the lenses used etc?

Thanks David, we used mainly my set of Zeiss ZF primes. I have a 28, 35, 50 and 85mm. The really wide shots are with the Canon 16-35 f2.8 L
The Zeiss lenses are just great for video work. I think they have quite a cinematic quality to them.

I shoot alot of rap music videos but good music is good music and I like the concept of your video. I felt it was extremely original and I also like the visual. Good video and song.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the comments. It's good to share and see what people are doing with these cams, very exciting time to be shooting!

DUDE!! that was fantastic! It IS nice to see something than a bunch of rappers with their pants around their knees flashing bling! Love the song Love the shots love the blonde! The only thing that I personally found that threw me off was one shot where the lead singer was lit REALLY different than the rest of the entire video @ 2:47 Other than that my friend brilliant! May I ask was this a payed gig or was this a freebee?

I will post a few more of my videos if you are interested, but they are all paid gigs. Production is how I make my living. I am collaborating with Robb Cox on all of these music videos and we both direct and shoot. We are stoked as we have 5 music videos in the top 15 on the Country Music Charts here in Oz at the moment. Hey thanks for watching and I'm glad you like it.

OUTSTANDING! Great job Mick. So tell me, what is the story on country music in Australia? That stuff sounds like it is straight out of Nashville. Sh*t man, I was born and bred in the Southern USofA and that dudes "Twang" is spot on.

EDIT: Except for the pick up trucks. Sorry, but for a proper country song, Toyota PUs are not acceptable. Ford F series is number one, followed by GMC "Jimmy" series, then, maybe a Chevy. Just my two cents for future reference. LOL!!

EDIT: Just sayin'

Thanks mate, I hear you. It's a funny thing really, but it's pretty standard that Aussie country artists sing with the southern twang. I guess it's part of the style. This Artist (Lee Kernaghan) is a music legend here, and a great guy to work with. We are currently in production on another video for him that my collaborator, Robb, shot in Nashville last month. It's a duet with USA singer Dierks Bently so we shot his parts in "Nashie"!

And hey if the it's a southern thing... Australia is just about as south as you can get ;-)
Thanks so much for checking out our gear!

Oh yeah, please post any videos ya'll shoot. I really enjoy them. As far as the "Southern" thang... well, yes, Australia is about as far south as the anglo civilization has thrived, no doubt. However, the music that Lee Kernaghan is making has a specific geographic origin. I am fortunate in that I was born and bred in southwest Virginia, right smack dab in the area where country music was born. Modern country music was born in Bristol Virginia in 1927 with what has become known as the "Bristol Sessions" where the first recordings of classic country music legends Jimmy Rogers and the Carter Family were made. My entire family traces there roots to an area that is about 60 miles from Bristol, in the high Appalachian plateau. I graduated High School from this area. What I find interesting is that country music was born in an area where Scots-Irish descendants modified there old world folk music to their situations in the mountains of Appalachia and created a music industry that is thriving world wide. That is very cool.
