Check the link for HD version or look at the video here for non HD as non Plus members cannot embed HD videos. Shot entirely on a Canon T2i. Made some mistakes and was a challenge in and out but for only being my second music video I am more than happy. More work on the way.

Thanks You for watching

STAR WIPE!

it had its moments but the lighting was flat, use some bounce or something to give some definition to your talent.

There was a scene near the end in front of some graffiti that looked like it was lit much nicer than the rest? I'd have to watch it again to be sure.

And the hectic editing style doesn't jive well with the long static tripod shots, should be a lot more camera movement just to keep things interesting.

Its a hip-hop video, the editing is tons of frames all over the place, get creative with your angles and cam moves, straight on to the talent as he raps at the camera gets boring after about .5 seconds.

its a decent first cut, take it back to the editing suite and cut away to a different shot 50% more, on the beat and see what happens.

Thank you for the watch and feedback. The colors were desaturated and the lighting done like that purposely. All shots ( minus outside) were actually lit very well and I just muddied them up in post for an "effect".

I also agree that more angles are needed which I also feel that I did capture a lot, but probably need more. .5 seconds in your opinion the scenes should change, I see your point but I also do not like to change as fast either.

Regardless I will take note and edit better in the future. More shots, more angles, and faster edits to keep the audience interested. This was shot in 4-5 hours on a Friday and edited on Saturday the following day. My work flow for now is videos under 3 minutes, 1 day shoot and the next day edit. Local artist have been happy and I only want to get better and learn from people everywhere.

Thanks!

i watched it a second time and the interior shots did have more thought on the lighting, its just the shots outside the feel flat and stale, you don't always need to cut every .5 seconds but i just feel some of the static shots (especially outside) sit for too long.

keep playing :)

Outside was/is flat as it was a very nasty cloudy day. The video actually was supposed to be outdoors but here in "Sunny" Miami FLorida it was raining practically all day really really bad so we just shifted the video to an abandoned indoor location.

Ideally you would not shoot outside, but I just needed to do something and make it work as I am so hungry to get my vision out there and learn in the process. Regardless thank you once again for viewing and I hope I can improve and learn from my mistakes so I can reach a more professional level !

Hi Man..
I'm about to buy my T2i... and are very impressed of the quality of the images...
Your video.. well.. i also think it could been edit more fast, got more variasions in
scenes and angels... and it is flat and "boring" outside.. but all in all... you have done mor then other...
you have made a musicvideo.. and i know it is difficult... that is why i work mainly with documentaries..
Check out my friends site...

Take care

There was tons of grain. Why was that? Distracted me from the quality of the image...

And those flat desaturated colors bothered me a lot. With the T2i, it honestly feels like there could have been more polish to that product. I could have shot that on a DVX...

Once again the "Flat" Look was a desired effect. Also having worked with the Dvx on many many projects I would say "no" it would not look as good as this because of the standard def. + many other reasons. Remember to follow the Vimeo link for Hi-Def version.

Also here's the first video I edited on my T2i in full 1080p and bright colors ( edited about 1 1/2 weeks ago)

Two simple videos under my belt and working on some more this week, getting a lot of work lately ! Hopefully more work + money as I love doing this regardless + helping artist with their vision.

quality looks good on the second one but I would definitely correct some composition errors. But hell man you made two music videos since the release of the T2i. Props.

Thank you, still learning and hopefully my knowledge and expertise will continue to grow. I love shooting and when I'm not I feel miserable for some strange reason.

THank you for the comments and for watching everyone, I truly love what I do that's why this means so much to me. I have a couple of things setup for this weekend and will try to shoot better.

Regardless I thank life for even allowing me the opportunity to be blessed to do this.

I actually had about 25+ takes but only 10+ were useable. Many scenes the energy just wasn't there so I couldn't use them. I have learned that getting good scenes indoors is very hard due to the artist not feeling very comfortable in front of the camera.

Regardless this is an ongoing process and learning curve for everyone. Hood Prices is my motto, heck $500 for a video or only $100 if that's all you got. I apologize to the community for the low pricing but this structure works right now for people who do not have money and allows me to learn and get a lot of work.

I have a family so I need to do what I can to provide for them, once again thank you for viewing and all comments are welcome as I only wish to shoot and get better. I do not inspire to be the most famous anything, all I care is to do what I love and put food on the table.

have had to push alot of artist that are just up and coming
thy need to be pushed.. or thy will not get anywhere and if thy don't get anywhere we don't get anywhere
Media is a powerful thing if done right

100% agree.

Trust me if you hear my clips I'm yelling back and forth at the artist and other people to give the camera some love and to step it up. I don't play when it comes to this!

I agree with the original commenter, for a hip-hop music video, it's cut way too slow for my taste. Kudos on shooting two videos so close to one another, though.

I actually think this was pretty awesome, and I'm a guy who doesn't have a single hip hop track on his iPod.

I'm not sure what some of these comments are, concerning the grain, lighting, or whatever; I've seen a lot of boring horribly shot boring crap that gets raves and it's totally bizarre.

Maybe a bit more cam movement would have made it more interesting. Still thumbs up.

One thing that confuses me...."All footage shot on Professional HD Camera"...huh??

I like the way the white guy throws around the "N" word like he is one. :-) I think he puts a little too much "er" at the end of it. Gotta round that off more. :-)

Keep making those videos.
