music bed

I'm in the post phase of a project I shot. I thought it would be fairly simple to find some royalty free music for a music bed, but Music Bakery (my usual source for stuff like this) didn't have what I need. So I'm hoping someone here can point me toward possible sources.

I need 3, maybe 3 and a half minutes (not really critical) of music I can use to "represent" Norfolk, VA. The biggest feature of Norfolk is the world's largest naval base, so I'm thinking a nautical theme maybe. Perhaps an old sea shanty? I'm not sold on that idea, so any suggestions appreciated.

It needs to be up tempo, and not serious to the point of being whimsical. Maybe another way to say it is kid friendly? Instrumental.

I like Incompetech.com . A lot of his stuff has also been put on youtube, search for incompetech or Kevin MacLeod

"Is there any place where can i download free SWOOSHES sounds?"
- There are 'free S/FX sites, but finding the 'right' sound and at good quality usually takes time auditioning. Freesound.org for instance
Pro S/FX sites sell single S/FX clips at affordable prices as well.

Alex just a quick question:
Is there any place where can i download free SWOOSHES sounds?
thx

You know depending on what exactly you mean by swoosh, these can be some of the easiest sounds to record.
Set up a mic and swing things past it. Generally you will need to slow them down a bunch but...

Now if you are talking synthy swooshes for transitions, that is a different thing. Digital Juice used to have a bucket load in their FX packs. I pretty much have never used them since that hasn't been the kind of work I do. Not quite free.

Bruce,

Have you thought of just doing it with sound or do you really "need" a jingle for the piece?

Precedent has already been set. This is a yearly piece that highlights the yearly convention. My opinion doesn't really matter, but I suspect it would do fine without the music. But the producer, the money, wants music. So I'm looking for music.
