Multiple C300 shoot

I have a shoot coming up where the director and producers like to use three cameras. I convinced them to go with the C300 instead of the 5DII or III, mainly because it's a theatre play and we will be using the lights of the grid available in the theatre. With the sensitivity and better DR the C300 would be a better choice. My biggest concern is the data wrangling of a two day three camera shoot. I told the director that we need a dedicated data wrangler or we would be in trouble. What would be the best approach with the C300?

Thanks, Jorn

I would certainly choose C300's over a full frame DSLR, but even with S35, focus will be difficult for a stage play with lots of talent movement. Will you have AC's for each camera? I would want AC's and Cine lenses with follow focus, or better yet, 2/3" cameras or even smaller sensors--much easier for getting it right on the first take.

I would agree that a data wrangler should be hired. Failing that, a NEXTO transfer unit.

Thanks for pointing out the NEXTO transfer unit, I will have a look at it. Could be a good alternative for a data wrangler, if worse come to worst.

I did the calculation and it's not that bad at all, I'm used to the data load of the RED, this is nice.

This is why the C300 has been the success that it is, and will likely continue to be so for the foreseeable future; it has very intelligent compression combined with top notch IQ. Good luck on the production, let us know how it goes. Are you shooting C-log? I recently shot a one-man show for a friend, and I would recommend recommend it since lighting can change quite drastically. You'll probably want all the DR you can get.
