MultiAVCHD Woes

So after successfully converting some MTS files with the Viera (NTSC) option in MultiAVCHD, setting the final cut sequence preset to apple prores 422 (HQ) 1280x720 24p, I keep having my frame size changed after the log and transfer. Final cut appears to be changing my frame size from 1280x720 to 1440x1080. Why is this? Anyone?

You should be importing directly into Final Cut using Log and Transfer. Why are you using MultiAVCHD?

i'm having to use multiavchd because final cut 7 does not import MTS files and i've gone and deleted the original file structure as written by the camera. im using multiavchd to recreate it, which is all the fcp recognizes.
