What is everyones specs for converting H264 to prores422 with mpeg streamclip?

I don't know about better, but streamclip is the quickest/easiest I know of.

Try neoscene or fcp media manager. Mpeg streamclip and compressor both change the gamma values.

Hey a little question about MPSC, when choosing AIC or ProRes you have a quality slider bar

Im shooting in 24 frames with the 7d...do I need to put in a frame rate, or will it keep it to the same specs of the original file? If not do I put in 24, 23.98, 23.976?

it keeps the frame rate. and i would keep it at 100%, why lower it?

If what Ryan says is true, then it would mean altered contrast and color saturation.
