Mpeg streamclip - DnxHD - premiere pro cs3 audio problem

Just got my t2i and I'm new to the whole dslr system. Only been using regular dv camcorders before. But I've done some reading up and here's what I do so far.

For example when using a 720p file shot at 50fps.

Bring into mpeg streamclip and export as DNxHD (I'm on pc) and chose the right settings.
Bring into a 24fps project in Premiere Pro cs3. Interpert the footage and change the frame rate to match the project settings.
Bring to the timeline.
This is where I start to get problems.

If I drag my in point of the layer, lets say 1 sec in the entire audio file gets offset. So the audio happens before the action in the video even though the waveform displays it as it was originally (in synch with the video).

If I cut my video, for example at 5sec. The clip before the 5sec mark is fine, audio is in synch. But the clip right after 5sec has the audio offset problem as before and the waveform still shows it as not having this problem.

Any help would be appreciated.

Are you doing slo-mo? I think when you interpret 50fps and change frame rate to 24fps project timeline, isn't it becoming slo-mo?

Maybe this is completely wrong, since I'm new to this work flow.

But I though you were supposed to have all your clips match frame rate wise, my final output will be 24fps at 720p. So the clips I shot at 50 fps would have to be interpret to 24? And then speed them up if I want normal speed?

In this case I am doing slow-mo, yes.

When I just drop the 50 fps version on the time line for a 24fps project it becomes insanely slow to scrub but when changing the frame rate it scrubs fine, that's why I am doing it.

I'm not so sure as I rarely shoot high frame rate, only if I want slo-mo... and when I do slo-mo I don't try to match any audio to it... because it'd be funny :-) if I don't want slomo and still want to use the clip that shot at higher rate, I just don't try to interpret and match it, just drop it into the timeline... and it'll play normal...

The only reason I shot most of it at 50p (I have some clips at 1080p, 24fps) is because I shot skateboarding. Then it gives me the option of having smooth slow motion if I'd need it.

For a "normal" movie though, as you say you wouldn't want the audio with the 50fps files.

Just seems kind of odd that is sooo slow when scrubbing (playing works fine though) when I have them set to 50fps but when I change them to 24fps it's nice and smooth to scrub the time line. There's no change in terms of quality or speed when actually playing the clips though.

Yes?
But people seem to be madly in love with the film look of 24p so naturally I had to try it out when I got this camera. The only stuff I've shot so far is just some test clips of skating and I'm trying to figure out a good work flow.

I have the same problems when using the 50p files within a 25p project instead.
