Movie dialogue that should be retired.

Some bunch of characters who have spent the movie growing and learning and struggling and triumphing together, partying and dancing in the last scene to 'empowering' music, typically 'We are Family,' 'Don't Tell Me How to Live,' or some such tune. Ugh.

A similar TV cliche is what I call the David E Kelley montage at the end of the episode...a bunch of slow panning shots of all the characters reflecting on what happened dissolving into each other as some dreary pop ballad plays on the soundtrack.

I would steer clear of Scrubs if you don't like that.

Watching "Lost" a couple weeks ago as Sawyer stares hatefully into the mirror at himself.

I'm saying out loud "Don't do it! Don't do it!"

-Sawyer punches the mirror.

"You did it..." *sigh*

The SAG should impose hefty fines for (over)using that.

Oh man, I just saw it. I think it was more painful knowing it was coming.

Im sorry, but Temple of Doom is alot better than Raiders and Crusade. :)

2 more I saw recently--

I was in (pick any war, typically Vietnam) when you were still (derogatory way to portray childhood).

And--

You have no idea. (typically said after someone attributes to you an understated characterization)

Dude, Blue Thunder:

"I had twenty years in this outfit, when your idea of a good time was sittin' in front of the TV tube, watchin' Bugs Bunny and gnawing on your fudgcicle. "

Seasoned old cop who just has to get through his last day on the force - and doesn't.

Wet-behind the ears rookie who just wants to not-get killed on Day One - and does.

DA who shouldn't be sleeping with the judge - but is.

Cop's estranged wife who ought to be raising the kids to respect their father - but isn't.

Detective with concealed drug habit he's desperate to shake - and can't.

Mobster needs to find cop with sick kid/parent/underwater house, to bribe - and can.

Newly-transferred or arrived officer who's not supposed to shake things up - but will.

Witness who can blow the lid off corruption/false conviction/wrongful arrest - but won't.
