Mounting HDMI Splitter to 15mm Rod System

Are there any decent tutorials/suggestions out there for cheaply mounting a HDMI splitter to a 15mm rod system?

In the past I've used duct tape wrapped around the splitter and rails, however it's not exactly cost effective or stable. The solution has to be extremely low profile and ideally suited for mounting above rails, not below. Similarly, the input & outputs ideally need to be perpendicular to the rails (just to add to the problem).

It's a difficult task from what I can think of. As you can see from the picture itself, there's not much room to play around.

Any suggestions or ideas would be great!

Thanks!

I've got the same unit. Take off the 4 screws on the sides and pull the top off - you might have to pry it a bit, you'll see how the HDMI ports can kind of stick through their holes.

Inside, you'll see there a space all the way across, above the little heat sink, where you could stick a 1/8" thick piece of aluminum or steel bar stock, 1/2" across to go wall-to-wall. The sides of the bottom don't reach the top so you can stick it in there flush if you want. You can get the metal at a hardware store and cut it with a hacksaw.

Glue that in with some JB Weld or Epoxy, let it cure and drill through the bar and the lid (13/64 bit) and tap a 1/4" thread. (If you've never tapped a hole before, it's easy - you need the right size drill bit and tap and it's priceless for this biz, get a set for 3/8 while you're at it. You can also use a "drap" for a hole like this, a drill bit and tap in one, but you want a drill press and a clamp to use one of those. A $99 Harbor Freight drill press is kinda handy too...)

Now get on eBay and look over the hundreds of chinese rail system parts and find what you need to ten bucks or so. A rod mount with a 1/4" thumb screw oughtta do it. You'll want to make sure the screw isn't so long it passes the aluminum bar and hits the components. These splitters are like $9 on Amazon, but still, be careful.

I haven't done mine yet but it's on my list...
