Mountain Nature Short

Wow.
The shot with the moons reflection and the orange sky at the end were outstanding.
Nice choice of music and just overall great angles and close ups (especially the one of the water rising out of the ice).

Ian, some nice shots there. A few suggestions, if I may:

1. I know we don't all have access to a whole bunch of music but I found this choice to be dragging what could have been much more interesting from a dynamics standpoint. It was all too flat.

2. You started off on a number of shots of snow and plants and I felt like you held the shots way too long. It's customary to start with an establishing shot so that you introduce your viewer to the context of where they are and then do closeups. Of course, it can easily work the other way but I didn't think it did here.

3. Try moving the camera for interest. Even if it's a slow tilt up to the sunrise. Movement can create variety.

Thanks for sharing...

Great Start!

I would look at your footage and rework it a bit.

Definitely a better Opening Shot shot and another Establishing Shot when you are going to the breathing water theme.

Your footage is very nice and has great potential.

Just think of what you are trying to say and rework it so it says it a bit better.

I liked it very much...especially the water moving in the ice. I'm glad you left your camera stationary...because otherwise it would be hard to detect the subtle breathing of the water in a few shots.

Wow, well done. I agree with Disjecta about having an establishing shot, but Really like the music and the subtlety of the static shots. Where did you get the music? I really like it!!

Have to agree with Steven. I was perplexed by one thing. At the beginning we see, plants in snow, then two shots of the same cut down tree/log. Then finally a beautiful wide shot. A wide shot that had so much to offer I was wondering why I was just looking at a bit of dead wood. These are just my initial knee jerk thoughts btw. That first gib wide with a tilt from the sky to this final position would have been a great opener.

My favourite shot was the moon on the water, the gentle water movement was nice and was a good pick up by yourself to look for a different perspective.
