Mountain Bike stuff from the last year or so

Man the footage is so smooth. Mountain biking is one of my favorite activities so keep up the great work.

Is the first riding shot @ :17 handheld? It looks like a dolly!
Awesome crashing waves!!! Wow! 60i?
Do you deinterlace the 60i?
What shutter speed are the slo mo and realtime shots?

What scene file settings do you use?

Nice soft wipe at 1:17!
Sweet cloud silhouette at 2:05!

Is the stuff with a "cooler blueish look" at :17, 2:25, 3:10 a cool WB, CC, MB?

I love to ride and loved watching your stuff man!
Must be hard to put down the bike and pick up the camera!!!

Pretty much all handheald or tripod, I think the slomo really helps smooth it out. The way the 60i slomo trick works is that when you slow it down to 40% (or by 60%, depending on your editing software), it actually seperates the fields so that its technically 60 frames per second played back at 24. For the slomo, I always try to use nothing slower the 1/120th, but sometimes theres just not enough light.

The realtime shutter is usually under 1/60, alot of it's 1/48 but occasionally I'll put it at 1/500. I use the f6 scene setting and occasionally I'll tweek it a bit for that crazy blue look, which is really just changing the color temp to +7 then white ballancing off of the whitest thing i can find.

Sometimes I'll throw some Magic Bullet on the footage if I think it might make it better, alot of the time I just stick with either in camera or a little tweeking in After Effects. I think all those cool blue shots were done in camera, its been a while since I shot them so I dont remember too well :P.

Glad you liked it!!!
