Motorized IGUS slider

Ok, this is straight up sick! You making /selling them? Cause I would definitely be interested. That's just way too cool.

please ask them if possible order the DIY version... but keep it mind that you have to solder all parts (not a big deal, mine has worked at first try..)

I ordered the next motor: http://www.drillspot.com/products/59896/Dayton_2L007_Parallel_Shaft_12_Vdc_Gearmotor

and using this belt: HTD-5M

Hope this help (at least to start)

Does it move fast enough to do realtime dolly moves with that motor? did you program it for dolly moves? From what I have seen with the mx2 it is ether stop move stop timelapse or real slow dolly. Pretty much too slow to use effectively. I have an mx2 on order but from what I have seen from the videos the motors were very slow to traverse the rail. Like moving the length of the rail in 2 minutes.

I have the Stage Zero Dolly. I just got it and have been working with it trying to learn all the functions before taking out for a real run.
With that set up, it can travel up to just over 35 inches a minute. DP website quotes "From 0.12"/minute to 30.9"/minute"
You calibrate it to your pulley size and payload weight as far as distance/speed goes as it works around Pulse Width Modulation for the DC motor drive. One would assume a larger pulley might grant you a faster speed.
