more rokinon cinelenses coming

I've got the regular 35mm and 85mm versions. They're really solid lenses for the money, sharp, with a nice long focus throw and manual operation for video work.

I have the 8mm as a Canon mount.

And I have to say I was sceptical with the low price. But the build is really solid the mount is rugged and tight. The optics are pretty good, not L class but not bad.

So for the price the 8mm at least is a good deal.

I would buy them somewhere where there is a 30 day return policy, just in case.

long focus throw - its very tempting! tired of short focus lenses, real pain to deal with....

Any word on a 50mm? There's going to be a big gap between 35 and 85. 50 would at least allow us to have a usable matched set without subbing other brands.

I have the 8mm, 35 and 85 - all great bang for the buck.

Having used the 8mm and the 35mm, I can say those are great lenses for the money.

I've heard that the 24mm f1.4 is not that good from a number of reviews. At least, not on par with the 35mm and the 85mm. The Zeiss 25mm f1.4 and the Canon 24mm f1.4 II reviewed much better than the Samyang version. But they are much more expensive.

I read another review that said that the 24mm f1.4 is as sharp if not sharper then the canons..I got the 24mm and its pretty sharp even at f1.4 shot pics with it on my 7d and the detail is there love it on the fs 100 to.
Wouldnt know if its better then canons version.

Btw the thread title is more coming :)

i wonder if some one can comment on the quality of their lenses? as far as i heard the only great one was the 85mm......

Just because it cost only $300... :) ... for that money I took it.. :) .. and when I test it in B&H, I try Sony 85mm Zeiss...... there as much differense in pichture quality as in they cost :)
... when I've got 24mm Rokinon for $700 plus tax I shoot only one day with it, and return it immediately...
Let's try to be honest: that lens DO NOT COST as much as they sell it.. actually all Samyang/Rokinon it's "cheap lenses"... and I would always prefer something else if I have enough money ...:)
Sharpnes is only ONE important parameter of the lens performance... Color and microcontrast, Bokeh and build quality is also important... in manual lenses for cimena we need 11-14 curved aperture blades without stoppers ....
