I got my Gh2 and used the GH2vk hack the same day.I bought a pal version for ntsc use which is working perfectly but my questions are

1.is the creative cinema mode 24p the only mode i can get 24p?

2. why is my view finder general dark even in a lighted room with settings at Shutter /60 for ntsc use.

3. when it is outdoor, there are no problems at all,

4. is it due to the inherent native 1080/24p that it is dark.

5. when I switch to Pasm mode specially in P the lcd brightens up BUT it swiches to 30P and not 24P

what am I doing wrong?

Did you change the ISO to a higher mark? Like 1600?

Open the aperture for your lens wide open if it's a manual lens - or are you using the 14-42mm?

......am using the 14-140mm kit lens.... If all the lights in the room are open and the tv is on, everything is dark except for the tv.It lightens up if I push it to 1600 or 3500.But as a rule I never push it beyond 800. with GH13 I can use the PASM and I am still be at 24p but with the GH2 it reverts to 1080/30P. Can you explain why?

with fd canon 50mm 1.4 it gets a better even at iso 400 its good.its this damn 30p that I dont understand. Is that the default ? and how do I change it then?

Just to note, the LCD will start off dimmer when you first turn on the GH2 (and GH1) and then progressively brighten as you keep the camera on. It's not a malfunction, is mentioned in the manual. I suppose this would relevant with the viewfinder, also.

Well my guess would be that the Canon 50mm at f/1.4 is very fast so it let's in a lot of light - thus brighter images. The 14-140mm zoom kit lens, how fast is the lens? Maybe the iris can't get as much light in as the 50mm. f/5 and below would produce dark images I reckon, in the room you described.

As for the 1080/30p issue, no idea! Ask on Personal-View as well.

The 14-140 is f4.0-5.8. Quite slow... 3 1/2 stops slower at similar focal length to your Canon 50mm/f1.4.
If you were shooting ISO 800 @ f1.4 you'd need ISO 9600 or so for similar exposure with same shutter speed.
