GH2 More jello?

I generally shoot 24 FPS (24H) with 50 shutter speed. I've noticed that I get MORE jello in my shots than I did previously using the 5D Mark II. What is this due to? Would love any ideas on how to reduce it. I know the only way to get rid of it completely is steady, non quick moving shots. Let me know, thanks.

I find that using with the panny 12-35 with ois when shooting handheld helps a great deal with 4k rolling shutter issues.

Yes keep it steady and add some support. I wouldn't be caught dead trying to handhold any of these cameras. At the very least add a cage so you can get a firm grip with both hands. Even that is asking for trouble.

I use either a tripod, monopod, shoulder brace, or mini dolly when I shoot.

Also if you are shooting 4k on the GH4 you will notice it more because there are so many more [pixels to read out from the sensor. Welcome to being a pioneer of 4k. It isn't going to be perfect.

I think this is simply endemic to many CMOS based cameras like the GH2. It is one of their larger achilles heels.

I get it worst when walking handheld or with long telephoto. Sometimes there is little to nothing you can do to mitigate it, but it shouldn't be too terrible if you're flying it with a stabilizer or using a shoulder mount or tripod. But even then "mounted," I think that actions like walking create insurmountably jarring motion with each step that simply cannot be handled by the CMOS sensor but to jello the image due to the motion the camera is subjected to.

I really want wide dynamic range, and so I've been eyeing the Blackmagic pocket camera, but rolling shutter is one of the biggest things I will focus to mitigate. Unless you pay for a camera that has "fixed" it, it is what it is I'm afraid.

the Black Magic 4K has a GLOBAL SHUTTER and should fix this, but it is a whole different beast. I was VERY CLOSE to pulling the trigger on one, but there were so many issues and annoyances that the benefit of global shutter didn't counter balance the decision well enough.
