Most is being done with Magic Bullet. I have experimented with FCP's CC tool, which is great, but I feel that MB gives me a 'head start' with the look I'm going for. I must say that a lot has to do with the lighting..

Lake Films,
I REALLY like these grabs a lot. The lighting is very moody and it has that chiaroscuro effect. The CC looks good too. My only concern, and this is just my .02 cents, is that when I first look at them they scream video to me. It could be the sharpness of it. You have some shallow depth going on there so that helps but at first glance that's the impression I get. Do you know what I mean? Maybe they're a bit softer in full resolution. Other than that they look very pro to me. Good work!

Yea, in full rez they are a little softer. You recommend that I soften the image up a little?

Some other people here will surely disagree. I guess it has to do with finding the happy medium. If you shoot with a 35mm adapter I would say keep it as is. With the stock lens I usually turn down the detail level to take that edge enhancement often associated with digital cameras. If you like it then just keep it the way it is. I just notice that a lot of people talk about their footage looking crisp when in fact some of it looks overtly sharp - as in video. Your's looks slightly more like HD detailed with beautiful colors and great lighting. It reminds me of the movie "Vacancy" look.
Are you planning on showing this on a computer? Big TV? Projected onto the big screen? The end medium will determine how sharp to keep it. Personally, I don't see my stuff going to the big screen so at the most it would be for 42-50inch plasma tvs and that sort of thing.
That was the long answer. Sorry!!!

Thanks! We'll be showing it on all size screens, so I guess keep it as sharp as possible. Thanks for your comments...
