GH4 Monitors Recommendations For 4K Editing

don't know anything about that one, don't have a 4k Monitor YET, but looking at this one http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...pf_rd_t=3201&pf_rd_p=1827489602&pf_rd_i=typ01
That's a TN panel. Won't touch TN panels after all the bad experiences I've had with them.

It only does 30Hz in 4k, apparently. Isn't that a bit of a limitation?

I have the Dell UP3214Q monitor and it's been a process working with it. I'm running it and a 1080 NEC monitor off my Nvidia GTX 680. The GTX 680 supports UHD @ 60Hz but OSX doesn't, so I'm currently using it at 30Hz which is painful. I've also noticed that the GTX 680 has trouble playing back UHD clips in a PP CC timeline if two or more filters have been applied. And exporting/compressing a 5 minute UHD timeline to a 720p H.264 files takes 65 minutes. Way too long for my preferences. So I'm currently awaiting a Radeon R9 280X which should be able to display UHD @ 60Hz in 10.9.4. I'm also hoping that it will be a better performer with regard to playback, rendering, and compression.

After all that said, I really like the Dell UHD monitor. It's much better than my old Apple LED Cinema Display. No more gloss! I don't see my reflection when editing! And the Apple display always had a greenish cast to it compared to my NEC, even after color calibrating them dozens of times with my Spyder Pro 3. The Dell's color reproduction is much better. It matches the NEC exactly. I also like the SDXC card reader which is very fast through its USB 3 connection. The only thing I miss a little is the built-in webcam. But at least now I don't worry about the NSA spying on me through it.

Ehhhhh, doesn't the Mercury engine that Adobe Premiere uses favours a nVidia card?

That used to be the case before Creative Cloud but now CUDA and OpenCL deliver about the same performance in Premiere Pro, After Effects, Encoder, and Photoshop, which are the programs that I use the most.
