GH2 Monitoring 720P60?

I was saving my pennies to buy an on-camera monitor, but this evening cam learned that the GH2 doesn't output 720P60 over HDMI. Which is a bummer as I shoot that mode quite often.

So two questions:

1) Which modes are sent out over HDMI? Just the various flavors of 1080i/p?
2) Can 720p60 and any other non-HMDI modes be monitored as component or (shudder) composite via the A/V port?

Thanks.

1080i 60/50fps output... I dont use an ext. monitor, but at that output... will the difference between 720 60p and 1080 60i be "THAT" visually different when in the field?
Anyhow, most field monitors peak at 720p and after 30fps the human eye isn't going to see much of a difference.

I assume 720p and 1080i/p will look much the same on an affordable small field monitor. But my question is how to get 720p60 footage to even display on a field monitor when shooting using that mode .... I read a post saying the GH2 wont output it over HDMI.

Is that correct, and if so can the a/v port be used instead?

As i dont use an external with my GH2...nor do I have the adaptor, i cant tell you 100%
However, im can almost positively tell you... that the GH2 will display video at any resolution you choose though HDMI. The only question is how accurately will it reflect the settings you have chosen.
I do have a monotor that will work with HDMI... im reluctant to spend on something I wont use in the field.
I'm sure it can be found in fine print.. at the moment its too late (3am) to check on all that :P
Im sure someone can chime in and save the day...sooner rather then later....

That would rock - I hope you are right!

The Gh2 will most definitely not work with a live monitor and 720p mode. When you plug in the HDMI cable, it disables 720p mode entirely and forces the camera to switch to 1080 mode.

OK, thanks, that's what I had read. Is it possible to instead monitor 720P60 through the analogue a/v port (SD resolution, obviously)?

You have live preview with analogue signal but it goes blank once your start recording in any mode
