C300: monitor recomendation for editing/color corection/ grading?

and still 1 more question, am i right or not? do i need 10 bit GPU in order to use 10bit production monitor? as right now my GPU is GTX580 and its 8 bit, does it means that i have to upgrade my GPU as well in order to use production monitor? or its something different and has nothing to do with each other?

The GTX580 can do 10bit colour, just not with the relevant software (like premiere). More specifically, it has to do with software companies using the Windows API and OpenGL colour buffers, which most consumer cards don't support.

However, the newest drivers out seem to indicate that they support OpenGL 4.3, so maybe there is a way to get consumer cards to use that, or something. I've emailed Nvidia about it, so I will report back with what they say.

right what i already figured - u will not get 10 bit out with gtx on Premier. u need Quadro Card or Quadro FX card, but also only through Display Port (hdmi and dvi will not work for 10bit - its info from Nvidia).

also blackmagic display i/o card will work as well... its cheap....

So thats what i am going to get : Quadro FX card (will use it just as a dispay card), Dell 27 10 bit monitor (seems like its best for the price), and sometimes later when i ll get enough of saving i ll get blackmagic card & 17` Flander 10bit monitor for true color check...
