C100: Monitor or EVF

Anyone here used the 3.5" KINOTEHNIK LCDVF for BMPC and CANON C100 vs the Zacuto Z finder?
I read this review that the 3.5" KINOTEHNIK lens don´t burn the LCD with the sun because the angle of the bean don´t converge to much like the z finder that burn the lcd in small dots in seconds !
Any feedback its welcome, i am looking to buy a viwefinder solution for my c100 lcd

I have used both and prefer the LCDVF. It is lighter and faster to install/remove. Optical quality seems similar although the LCDVF does not have an adjustable dioptre.
I don't know about the burning and would not want to be the one to test it!

I got one of those Liliput monitors for my 5D3 a couple of years ago. It has focus peaking, false colors, zebras, and it's not too bad for $250...... but I never use it much anymore after installing magic lantern.

Later I got a Ninja Blade for the C100, and I can only compare the image quality with an iPhone, which is fantastic. There are ways to mount the blade that don't interfere too much in the ergonomics. If you are doing mostly hand held I don't see why the Blade would be too small, in fact I can't imagine anything larger for that.

is it easier to focus with the blade than the C100 LCD?

Question...
Why would someone buy a SmallHD when the Odyssey 7Q is about the same price and has recording capabilities?
Anyone?

I can't think of a good reason, though the SmallHD is about half the price since SmallHD seems to have realized that they are getting priced out of the market and have dropped their prices. I noticed the SmallHD has discontinued their loupe for their 4" monitor. I'm thinking they might have a new EVF coming for NAB.

better battery life, can be calibrated, import custom 3d luts and has some really intuitive controls/UI.. Many folks don't want/need external recording so why pay a premium for it? The 07Q is an amazing value and performer but does lack calibration and its exposure tools/UI need quite a bit of polishing to catch up to other professional monitors.

In my experience yes a lot easier. The ninja blade has a wonderful screen that will allow you to focus a lot easier than the C100's LCD. Although since buying the C100 Mark II I haven't used the ninja blade once due to the screen being that much better than the original C100.

That's what I thought. Thanks!

I'm afraid it will be my problem too. If I buy a new camera (in the next 6-12 months), and if the LCD/EVF on this camera is quite better than what I have now, I'm afraid that the blade will not be use much.
That's why I was interested in a quality EVF. Bu then again, there is the Pix-E series that are coming soon...they have the ''tape zoom'' feature that the Blade don't.

I bought a Ninja Blade and loving it. A bit small but the screen is awesome. Battery life is pretty impressive too.

So is the Z-Finder still the best option for the C100 or are there better, cheaper options (and not LCDVF).

Who says the Z-finder is the best option...?

I actually have stopped using the LCDVF and got used to using the viewfinder along with peaking and often the help of DPAF.

With any loupe the C100 gets to far away from the body and gets difficult to hold IMHO.
