Since I got a 5D I see aliasing everywhere on TV.

Moaire happens all the time in news, documentaries and other tv programs.

But not in the original footage. Producers don't have any control over what the cable company does to their footage, but they certainly have control over what they actually record.

Macroblocky horrible overcompressed MPEG-2 happens all the time in sports, but do you think it's shot and recorded that way? Of course not.
