Mobile DIT / Data Transfer station - (on a $2K budget)

This is such a great build.

Thanks for sharing the specs. I've been looking into doing something similar to keep my MBP safe on set but also looking for a portable DIT/transfer solution for the cams I often shoot on (Panasonic; Sony; DSLR).

Just started a new mobile station build. The new system is designed to be powerful enough to to location editing (mostly 1080). It's going to be more modular, and way more versatile. I'll post photos and details in the "DIY Gear" section once complete. Very excited.

New Budget: $4200 (including drives and laptop)

Specs:
  • Much more modular and adaptable case setup
  • 15" Macbook Pro Retina (quad core / thunderbolt)
  • Additional on-board 7" lcd
  • 12tb of built in esata raid storage
  • 30min of off-the-grid battery power for system
