Up for sale is a splendid mixer/recorder kit that has served me well on many smaller projects. These devices just aren't seeing much use as I mainly work out of my larger kit more often than not. They are both in excellent, working order and need a loving home where they won't feel neglected. I am the original owner for both.
Sound Devices MixPre-D: 2-channel field mixer/pre-amp. Clean sound, excellent limiters, and bright, hi-rez metering. USB output for recording straight to a computer (or, with Loghtning>USB dongle, straight to an iOS device). The mixer is in pristine condition. One great feature of the MixPre-D is the stereo mic-level output for feeding directly to a DSLR.
Includes original packaging, manual, and USB cable. I'm even including a TA3F>1/8"TRS cable for connecting the stereo mic output of the mixer to your DSLR or camcorder, usually sold separately.
Fostex FR-2LE: 2-channel field recorder, up to 24-bit/96kHz. This is a solid field recorder that offers top-viewable meters when bagged alongside the mixer. File naming option offers scene/take system: set the scene name and reset the takes, and the recorder will automatically advance the take number with each stop and start. Pre-amps are good for the recorder's price range. The independent left and right input and record level controls are also very useful. Runs on 4xAA batteries or DC power. Recorder is in good physical condition with a few scuffs from field use, and in excellent operational condition. I've also run extended takes (30-60 minutes) with this recorder against both DSLR and prosumer camcorders and have experienced no drift after synching in post.
Includes original box, protective Fostex bag, DC adapter, and (never used) shoulder strap and remote control. I cannot find the manual, but it's available online. I'm also including a USB cable, and three CF cards (one 1GB, two 4GB) with clamshell card caddy.
And so the kit is ready for plug-and play, I'm including two Y-cables to connect the mixer and recorder. The 1/8" TRS>dual 1/4" TS connects the mixer's Tape Out to the 1/4" ins on the recorder. The dual RCA>1/8" TRS connects the recorders RCA monitor outs to the mixer's monitor return.
