I am about to shoot a feature-length film with my HPX170, but the thought of dealing with a 35mm adapter is overwhelming. I have no experience with adapters.
What I am planning to do is to use my T2i and a 50mm 1.8 prime lens to get the subset of shots that call for a shallow DOF. OTS dialogue shots, for example.
I plan to shoot 720p/24N with the HPX, and 1080/24 with the T2i--but that is subject to change if it is an unwise combination. If anyone has any advice on how to tweak either camera in order to best fit the two footage types together, I would love to hear it. I'm not sure whether to run Cinelike gammas on the HPX, for example. Trial-and-error will do the trick, but I would greatly appreciate any tips that might save time.
