mixing dvx and hvx tape footage

So I have some footage shot with dvx100b in 24pa mode. I also have some footage shot with hvx in tape mode, 24p squeeze. I have a 29.97 editing timeline in FCP 6. Is there a good way to add the hvx footage to the timeline? Everything I try makes the hvx footage interlaced. Is de-interlace my only option, or can I mix dvx 24pa with hvx 24p smoothly?

Sorry, but I don't understand why you aren't using a 23.98 timebase for editing... Both of your sources are recorded in 24p, right?
 
Did you try to use Cinema Tools to re-render your HVX 24p footage to 29.97? That's about all I can think ok...
