Mixin 720 50p, 1080 50i and 1080 25p on the same timeline

Anyone tried mixing these different recording formats on the same timeline. Does this work? I have mixed the 50i and 25p 1080 formats together with no problems in FCP. I assume you could downscale the 1080 footage to a 1280x720 timeline and it would just be the same as exporting at 1280x720 like you would for vimeo or a DVD. So in theory there should be no loss of quality?

Obviously it works if you've done it in FCP with no problems.

Yes there are many NLE's on the market which handle mixed formats just fine, there are some that will even handle footage with different codecs as well.
