Hello,

I recently purchased a blackmagic intensity pro card for my A1. I read on this forum and over at dvinfo.net about before I purchased it. My question is this, does it really improve quality when used to shoot uncompressed?

Did I just waste my money by buying the intensity pro card for my A1?

What do you all think?

What exactly do you need uncompressed footage for? If you're hoping the image will just "look" better then it won't. Uncompressed really only gives you a slight edge when you're keying; it's a very specialized tool that isn't necessarily right for every production.

I thought for a scene inside a house it would have been really good. Ofcourse run a long component cable
to another room where the computer would capture. I guess I will sell it on ebay.

In my testing I'm seeing a greater latitude for not only keying but any kind of color grading. I'm still testing this though. I'm capturing into FCP via decklink extreme as a variety of 422 formats to see which yeilds the best results. Having great success with BlackMagic 1080i 422 ProRes codec.
