Minolta MD lenses?

Generally, Minolta lenses require adapters with extra elements. This results in loss of light and loss of infinity focus, same as using Canon FD lenses on EOS cameras.

I use them on my GH1 and GH2. I have many vintage lenses but the Minolta's are nice and light.

You can also use them on Samsung NX and Sony NEX with adapters that don't need glass elements.

I have done the same with a GH2. The reason they work on the samsung and sony is because they are both mirror less cameras correct?

But with EOS, they do have to have the extra glass.

Minolta MD's are great - good build quality, coatings, and they breathe less than Canon FD's.

Minolta MC's use the same mount. They are the earlier generation of Minolta manual focus lenses built with metal barrels. Kind of like the original Canon FD's versus the later FDn's (MC vs MD in Minolta lineage).

Only drawback with Minolta's is that the faster lenses were never made: No 24mm F2.0's or 28mm F2.0's (as far as I know). So if you need faster lenses, I would go with the more expensive FD's and Nikon AI/AIS. The 50mm MC and MD F1.4's are a real bargain on Ebay.

They work great on my GH2 and SONY NEX FS100! You should not use them on Canon EOS cuz you need an optical adapter which degrades image quality.
