My Tiffen Clipper 2 sled was delayed last year so I had to rent a rig. This is Anders Elgaards Progrear sled.

My homemade car rig. Works pretty well...You can mount up to three light cameras.

That rig looks off the chain!!! What did you use to build it? How did you put it together?

My father helped me build it, he has access to manual tools (No CNC) and the raw materials.
We designed it as we went along.
The main frame and legs are welded stainless steel. The 2 main frame rods are built of C profiles tap welded back to back. The three camera mounting platforms are raw aluminum pieces. The nice fingerscrews are from mcmaster.com.

Here is the rig with dual DVX100A's, mounted on 3-axis gitzo heads. The two bags contains wireless transmitters:

are those sucktion cups on the hood of the car?

Do you have any footage from that shoot so we can see what it looks like from the rig.

No, or actually the black rubber pieces are the upper parts of old suction cups, but on this rig they are used to cover the tilting joints of the rig feet. It's only cosmetic :-)
The bottom of the feet are covered with a special kind of foam which have some form of suction when pressed against the hood. It's used commercially for suction plates which are used to lift products in process lines. You actually have to apply vacuum to the upper side of them to make it stick, but the slight suction when you compress it is usefull in this application.
The rig is kept in place by the four straps.

Was this also shot with the P+S?
Those on-the-hood shots really are cool!
Edit: can´t believe nobody asked before - how did you tweak the camera settings?
