Mine stutters

Hi all.
New camera. Installed new firmware without problem (was 1.0.7).
I get occasional random showstopper stuttered jumpy video (sometimes I see stuttering on the live view screen as well, even non recording). I thought it was the H264 hard to play for my macbookpro 2.4. But Mpegstreamclip transcoded Prores files stutters as well.
Problem is there with different kind of CF cards, empty or full. Tried also different lenses (Nikon and Canon). I don't see difference.

Here's a 6 sec. native clip http://www.filedropper.com/mvi0128
M mode. Fixed 1/50th. Fixed aperture 2.8 (Nikon lens. Camera display show, as expected, iris 00). Fixed iso 100.

Please, If you have a minute to download and see, tell me if it's normal or what.
Many thanks.

I get this occasionally as well. I thought maybe it was a problem of the sensor overheating (being used for too long without a break). Too be honest I don't see that much stuttering on your clip compared to what I have encountered. Usually I just turn off the camera and give it a breather for a few minutes. Someone else out there have a more complete technical explanation?

I downloaded your clip and playback as usual in Quicktime is horrible. PLayback in VLC is much better and when I loaded it into Vegas and rendered to ram the playback was fine at 30fps.

The file seems fine to me... just cant playback the native H.264 file on much without lag and stutter.

Playback in quicktime and VLC is realtime here. Seems smooth, did not notice any problems... Maybe it would help to see it on a larger screen.

looks like it's just quicktime, same thing happens on my 2.5ghz macbook pro but it plays ok in the latest VLC sometimes and other times it stutters.

Ran the clip on two systems and all good here.

In the future if you think you have an issue like this, try rendering out a low res proxy to just check for motion integrity. I do that all the time to verify that it's either the file or my system.... I used to do 3K+ files in AE and would do this too!

Thanks.
Yes, I need to figure out what kind of proxy. I thought I could check motion integrity transcoding to prores, but then my MBP 2.4 didn't plays fine those as well. Now I realize working on 5d footage isn't like working with dv, not even like dvcprohd.

I don't know AE. I'm on FCP.
Can you suggest a lower res proxy to just check motion integrity and maybe do some kind of offline editing?
