Mind officially blown! iPhone 4S / Canon 5d MKII Side by Side Comparison

The iPhone footage looks like crap... significantly more moire, there's rolling bars on the digital bill board at 0:48, the shot at 0:48 is overexposed, I also see fine lines through the entire image at 0:48 specifically in the sky, it also looks noisy. If they were to move the phone even slightly faster it would skew like hell. Maybe decent for cheap internet productions, definitely not for TV or Film production.

I am going to upgrade for BTS. It was great using the 4 for BTS on the feature, but I didn't do enough of it.

Definitely upgrading to 4S for the next one.

The Iphone sure didn't like the digital billboard at 0:51. And in the later shot.

Color was different, but most footage goes into color grading anyway.

Wasn't bad, overall. I think we will be seeing footage soon of projects using the Iphone.

Those billboards were just rolling from shutter sync. I don't think you can manually set the shutter speed with the native app. Any camera will do that with a high shutter speed. Hopefully something else will come out with more manual control. Hard to gauge some stuff through vimeo compression, but it looks pretty incredible for a phone.

Chan-wook Park's iPhone short. I don't know if that's been posted here already or not. I've been wanting to see it for a while. Looks very interesting. Both the movie itself and the aesthetic quality.

The fact that its that good of video for something always in my pocket rules! I shoot more video with my pocket camera (LX5) just because its easier to have with me, then I do with my GH2...
The iPhone is always with me, and is as cheap as buying a nice pocket video camera...
On a side note. Chan-wook Park's iPhone 4 movie, allowed for other people from the crew to participate in the shooting, allowing for many more creative angles and material to work with. Now thats genius ;)
