"Millionaire" Music Video (shot in France) KitSch 2.0 Feat. Theory and Luke Aster

So I shot this a while back and we've been sitting on it waiting for the label to release it. So finally it's out. Was my first project with the AF-100. Shot mainly with the Nikon 17-55mm and Tokina 11-16mm.

Collaboration with French producers KitSch 2.0 and US artist Theory and French Artist Luke Aster on the hook. Shot in Marseille, France this spring.

Feedback welcomed!

Thanks! :D

This looks really fantastic. You obviously know what you're doing in terms of "the look", but what impresses me most regarding the use of the AF, is your excellent control of exposure. This shows what this camera can do if you're not ham-fisted about exposing the image and keep things under control.

This is very good. Very good. I have to say I liked all of the outdoor shots the most. The guy on the balcony was my favorite, followed by the car shots. Though the styles were very different (warm and soft vs dark and shiney), I thought the blend was done well.

On a side note, I really like the hybrid of the rap / boyband-ish vocalist (like the Tinie / Eric colab)

Excellent! Really, really well done.

External recorder, I assume?

I like the contrast of the less saturated look on the balcony with the more saturated, bluer look in the VIP room.

What did you light the car interior with?

And you're an AE mad genius (the "keyboard"?!)!!! 'Nuff said!

Appreciate all the kind words, really!

External recorder? Nope...but I'll admit A TON of denoiser plugins on some shots. Mainly all the stuff on the balcony was shot in the dynamic range mode, setting 2 or 3 I believe. Really had to crank it on the opening shot especially to get the clouds and sky from being blasted away. This looked great on my monitor but showed serious noise when I got back and imported everything.

Interior car lighting...stock dome light+1600 ISO+denoiser from red giant. Miracle plugin but crashes like a mother. Has a known issue that they are working on. Basically I can only render 2 shots at a time and then close the project and relaunch final cut. Final render took DAYS. Denoiser renders like molasses.

I honestly didn't plan so much CG after how much I had in my last video, but we went with the "cool" factor. But Adobe's Rotobrush does wonders, saved me probably days of roto on the studio shots. Not as precise as doing it by hand, but for quick shots it's perfect.

Didn't have enough time to shoot as much of the "story" elements as I initially wanted to, everything was really rushed. But how many music videos actually make sense today? :D

AF-100 did a nice job, the ease of use with the camera is a major plus. But I'll admit there's a lot of post going on in this video. Definitely pushed the codec a little more than I'd like. While I welcome the resolution boost, I miss my 100Mb 422 coming out of my HVX...

I'll get a BTS video up when I can. Had several people rockin iphones while we shot.

PS..."proper" 24p to 25p conversion was a *****...

really, really enjoyed it, and it flew by. Great work and editing - and a fantastic track too. Well done Jarek! A++

I really hope they paid you well for this! It is very very good!

And the song is quite good too! :p

Liked the bit the most, with the black guy rapping, on the coast, infront of the sea! Very nice look!

Im actually hooked on the song... The video is GREAT and done very professional!!! Is the song in itunes?

Passing 20,000! That was fast! Just got word it began airing in Europe, wish I could see it out there. Curious how the 24-25p conversion looks on broadcast.

Definitely appreciate all the positive feedback on this one. This video was a blast to shoot! An opportunity of a lifetime to be able to come out to France for this! There's more in store where that came from!!!

Just hit 30,000 on youtube!!! Thank you my MILLIONAIRES!!!

This is very impressive. First shot dynamic range is crazy for this camera. That is DSR 3? But it is not noisy. Denoiser from red giant worked very good here. You think this is better than neatvideo?
Singer shot on roof is quite soft. Is it filter or camera? You remember what IRE you exposed his face on the roof? Dynamic range in this video is unbelievable for AF100. If this is DSR I must start using this. I know correct exposure also did job here but all help is welcome with his camera. Very nice video.
