Mike Petro Presents "Alone"

Man, I'm really bummed about the com-miscarriage. The tech info is no problem. You'll need 3dsmax. I'll print out a step-by-step maybe tomorrow or week-endish...

Yea, here ya. I've got a handfull of programs on the juggle. Miya, Photo-shop, C4D, AE, not to mention 3dsmax I have not mastered yet, plus c++ .net CRL to catch up on. Throw in Vegas, boujou, Ultra 2. I'm getting toooooo old for this sh*t.:Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

Edit: ...that was supposed to be 'hear ya'. Spell checker?

Hey, Michael. Got a chance to watch ALONE. I think I need to watch it a few more times to really figure out what it's about. Didn't seem to present a chance for real dramatic content.

Seemed more like, well, a letter to someone. And, that's not to say it's a bad choice or the wrong choice. It seemed more like an artistic venture into personal thoughts and regrets.

Gotta say, your last shot was pretty cool. I liked that a lot and played it back a few times to see if it was green screen or something.

The last shot the pull away was done under the dames point bridge in jax..no GS..
before i filmed this I had already dropped two scripts due to no actors (and believe me i tried everything paper, craigslist... etc) and was not going to enter. I was getting antsy to do something so I just took my kid out in the yard and started filming everything was sorta winging it from there an I was not sure if I was going to submit something or not... so i tried to work on post production stuff and lighting.. Did i succeed well .. i know it "looks" better than betrayed so improvement is a good thing :) so hey why not submit it...

Hey Michael, the thing cut off right after the boy was swinging the girl around and I can't get it to play past that... :(

I guess redownload the file should be 36.7 megs ..I just DL it from the site and it works fine.. let me know and thanks for watching :)

You did succeed in creating yet another piece that you are proud of. Take my words with a grain fo salt. I am not here to cut anyone down, but to shed an objective and honest light on the work that's being presented.

Besides, what do I know? I have yet to exhibit a complete short. =)

Good job, Petro. I am particularly glad to see that this one did not involve lesbian betrayal. Not because that kind of thing sucks, but because that kind of thing must be handled with care if you want people to dig it.

AHH the lesbians... err sorry ...wait I think there might be a film like that in the fest look and see :)

And that's exactly why I say that it must be handled with care. Throwing such a thing around, even in a comedic way, requires attention to what you're trying to convey. Using it as a pedestal when there's no ground to put it on is sure to garner a big fall.
