Read a reviewe on, the schoeps,CMIT 5U shotgun mic. Looks like a good choice. But I have no clue if at 1,795 its a good bang for the dollar? Any thoughts, on what mic you would like to buy and why?
If you want a shotgun, I recommend the Sennheiser MKH70 in the same price range as the Schoeps (maybe a few more $), and also the venerable, proven-beyond-all-doubt-for-all-time, Sennheiser MKH816 and MKH416. A used 816 just sold on ebay for $300.
