Didn't I see one of these mounted inside a Fig Rig? Seemed like the perfect solution to me.

It works pretty well.

I'm done.
My review unit broke down completely. Here is what happened.
1st. The cable that comes of the back of the roll arm to the sensor was bulging and rubbing against the frame causing it to be unstable. I didnt notice it until after I spent a lot of time trying to balance the roll. I got some help from Filmpower and they pointed me in the right direction to the problem. That tells me they have had this issue before. After pulling the cable tight and taking the bulge out I was able to balance the roll.
2nd. The Nebula 4000 Lite wont work at all with the software. No way to change anything and that's a problem even if the gimbal is designed for out of the box PID settings. If I wanted to try inverted mode or any fine tuning I cant.
3rd. The battery is now dead. I cant get it to work for more that two minutes and it goes whack and limp. I opened up the botom plate were the main board is mounted, but I have no idea what to look for. I cant see any loose wires or hints of what could be wrong.
I'm pretty disappointed because I feel it's an innovative product and I cant really test it anymore. What little I was able to do with it was great. I clearly have a defective unit with several issues. I'll see if Filmpower is willing to send me another one but I doubt that will happen. Good luck guys and thanks for the help. This thread is been a huge resource for anyone looking at the Nebula 4000 Lite.
Cheers!
Erik
Agreed, he's really creeping me out.Can you two ease up? It's getting toxic in here.
1. Do you know what a blog is? I don't currently have one.Go back to your blog dude. Then get into your PIDs. You're video is loaded with gitters, face it. Maybe you don't know how to adjust in the software?
Suggestion: turn your attention away from "gitters" and learn about fundamentals in exposure and color balance. This was the second day I had the device and after I TUNED it, I tested it for what I intend to shoot with the gimbal.
Yep, on this, your misunderstanding of a question posed by someone else, and then my peaceful correction, was the genesis of your whole tantrum that has by now gone creepy. Starting to pity you, and wishing you a better New Year of letting go whatever's burning you up inside with rage. Any creative success with gear like this is something I'll celebrate, while life is way too short for accommodating the classic insecure nitpicking male ego.The 4 and 5 push of the button only calibrates the sensor (the thing that levels the camera) and the gyros to the INPUT PID VALUES on the board. Doing that only tells the gimbal what is center, level, and straight.

That's right, you don't have one, you have two ( hpaulmoon.com "MoonBlog" and facebook.com/focuspulling "A blog about the technology of independent filmmaking" ). Common...1. Do you know what a blog is? I don't currently have one.
I agree with StMad
The cables are fine, the software works (I've tested windows and android), and the battery is fine.
Run and gun with a gimbal? That 2min warm-up is weird. Curious to see if you find a workaround for that (procedure that starts the unit with proper horizon) because when doing run n gun you don't always have 2 min...
Run and gun with a gimbal?
This is a 9 minute sample of clips anyone can get right out of the box--handheld, full follow mode ( I didn't even bother switch to the two other modes that would have been better at times) , Sony RX10, shot 2 days after I got it, and it wasn't really properly balanced.
Nothing great, just shows how ANYBODY can get something that looks better, instantly.
And it is an affordable purchase for small business startups that often do their own web videos to save money, but want to look better than the regular Joe.

And here is the finished product, 1 min 39 seconds.

Dusty, I tried running those tests inside and got the same result, two minutes each time, sometimes it happens between profile changes.
I got rid of the roll vibrations however, check it out. Thanks for everyone's help! I do like this thing.
That sucks Erik that your unit failed. Feel free to contact me if you ever wanna use mine on a shoot and I will Fed-Ex it down to SD before you drop cash on something that might have you hesitant in buying.
