Mic recommendations for XHA1

I'm looking into buying the Rode NTG2 mic for my XHA1 and wondered if anyone could recommend alternatives that might be better. The Sennheiser mics seem very expensive for no better performance.

The mic will be used for filming interviews mostly indoors.
 
If it's for indoor use, and mainly interviews, I've heard very good reports about the Octava MK012 as a table mic. Or a good quality lav (clip-on).

I actually have the NTG-2, and love it, but I'm not sure a shotgun is necessary for what you want.
 
I have a Sennheiser Me66 and love it... but if it's for a sit down interview, you'll want to go with a decent lavalier.
