Hi, I´m interested on buy Metabones Speed Boster Canon for GH4 and I have some doubts:

I´m interested too on buy Canon Lense, a 24-70 f2,8

- Do autofocus works shoothing photography with canon + speedboster? and works shooting video? Do the autofocus works okey or is it slow?
- I have read the crop factor with GH4 on 1080 is about x1,6 so... 24-70 f2,8 is going to be a 38-112 f2,0?

What option do you prefer to buy?
1) Canon 24-70 f2,8 + Speed Boster
2) Lumix 12-35 f2,8

Thanks for the info :)

Autofocus is not supported using a speed booster and canon lenses. If you must have autofocus stick with native m4/3 lenses.

Hi,

I can't really comment on Canon lenses as I have a Nikon -> MFT Speed Booster and thus use lensen with a Nikon mount.

I am myself not a fan of the Lumix lenses. My colleague has the 12-35mm and the 35-100mm and while they are perfectly usable, sharp lenses I just simple don't like 'the look'. There are tons of in-camera corrections going on when using these native lenses that you can't turn off. The result is, to me, a way to 'clinical' image. It doesn't look 'filmic' or 'organic'. Can't put it into any other words.

For me, I always use manual focus for video so I don't miss the autofocus which you lose with the Speed Booster. If you can live with that, my advice would be to stick with you Canon lenses. Even if you wouldn't agree with my comments on the clinical look, it's always better to have lenses which are usable on several camera's. By investing in M/43 lenses you are kinda stuck to that format. And what if in 2 years you want to get rid of your GH4 and buy a new S35 or Full Frame camera? You will have to buy new lenses again.
Whereas you could probably mount your Canon lenses that you have now on that new camera with just a new Speed Booster / Adapter.

So those were my reasons to invest in Nikon mount lenses and haven't look back since.
