Hey Everyone,

I've been coming here for a while, and I've had my DVX since August, but this is the first time I've had stuff to show. It's actually a film my friends and I are working on, I'm not directing, but it's my DVX being used. Anyway, the link to the site is: www.evilcup.com

Trailers 5,6, and 7 are all shot on the DVX, so that's just a little taste of what we're doing, nothing's been color corrected or been messed with other than the original settings on the camera so far.

We're shooting in 24pa using a widescreen adapter. Hope someone enjoys this :)

Re: Medieval Comedy Trailers on the DVX

Cluster...

I would also like to add that none of the footage you see on these trailers is going to be in the actual movie...

Re: Medieval Comedy Trailers on the DVX

:P ...sorry but you guys need help... shots aren't really special not to mention that I believe there is already a 70's or 80's movie along those script lines... :'(

Re: Medieval Comedy Trailers on the DVX

I think they know about the "Monty Python" movie and that is was there basis is.

Re: Medieval Comedy Trailers on the DVX

I agree.  Definatley a homage?

Regret to say I didn't like anything abobut this.  :-/  :'(

Just an opinion; honest at least.

Of course I never liked the original Monty Python stuff either so at least that tells you where I'm coming from and that maybe my opinion doesn't count!

Re: Medieval Comedy Trailers on the DVX

come on guys, let's be supportive.
keep working at it - i'd rather see comedy than another troubled/disturbed/tortured artist short.

Re: Medieval Comedy Trailers on the DVX

I'm sorry. I keep getting confused.

Are we suppossed to be honest or sugarcoat it? I'm a team player so just tell me what to do. ;)

Re: Medieval Comedy Trailers on the DVX

Honesty is really the only way people learn. But I also go by the saying of if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all. But if they're posting stuff on this site then they must want someone to say something. I rather have negative feed back as long as its something more than "it sucks". Constructive feedback is always a good thing.

Re: Medieval Comedy Trailers on the DVX

Hey Guys,

People should feel free to be honest, I don't need to have someone come tell me "Well sorry to say...BUT". Just speak your mind.

'Thehead' is right, those are all teasers, only the last two of which are shot on the DVX. They're just meant as jokes. Also, whoever said above, you guessed right: this is an homage to Monty Python. So stay tuned for a trailer with some great footage of the movie, and you people keep speaking your minds, this isn't Communist Russia ;)

Re: Medieval Comedy Trailers on the DVX

Oh well! In that case just avoid all the techniques used on your trailers/teasers... Looking forward to your real finished product! ;)

Hey i use to live in communist russia , technicly it never reach communism, but you can still speak there what ever you want, list once.

One day i learn some english words, they sound like constructive critisism (sound not spelling).
When i saw trailers first though was it is rip of Monty Python, but they wasn't first ether. So it is mean no one can make commedy about those times? But posting here you asking for ppl to rip your work a part, list i preferd rip on part more then but kissing, it will make me do better job and grow. From one time i start to separate people I know on those who help me ,even it wasn't pleasent, and those who don't care.
I am learning more from watching bad movies, i still like good one too :)

Over all, it does have fealing of home video, you send to "america funniest video" and dos not fill serios wark on it.
Custums wasn't properly put together, 24AP doesn't did the magic of movie , propobly was missing some withe color balance, tripod, sound, acting and preperation, camera position, best help will be to read some books.

Re: Medieval Comedy Trailers on the DVX

..imho although this project lacks any sort of proffessional looking cinematography , or theatrics, ..really so do the original monty pythons.. so its not tto far off imhho.. keep up the good work.. they werent excactly going for dances with wolves here... but even so .. some studying in the field of cinematography couldnt hurt. keep up the work ! would like to see more.. was funny

Re: Medieval Comedy Trailers on the DVX

lol.. it means " inkleberry madagascar homonym oreo".. makes perfect sense when you think about it.

Re: Medieval Comedy Trailers on the DVX

what!!!??? you mean ive been duped..?? i am so gullable.. someone once told me i was not a real boy, and i went home and tried to hotwire my brain by sticking q-tips up my nose with 9 volt batterys tied to them.

Re: Medieval Comedy Trailers on the DVX

Don't fell bad john I had to ask the same question. But dependeing on who you are e-mailing could be honest or humble. you tell me. 8)

Re: Medieval Comedy Trailers on the DVX

Hey, we actually got a decent amount of responses. Cool.

I'd just like to remind people that these are not part of the actual movie. They're mostly just messing around on off days, or after we wrap for the day. We know this is more of a technical site, so maybe it's not the best place to try to get attention, seeing as how we are focused more on the commedic value of our movie, then on the actual technique. In fact, one could say, there is no technique, at all...

Whoops. Anyway, If you guys do see some insanely obvious problems with the trailers, even though they aren't an accurate representation of the actual product, we'd like to know. We could also use more specific responses. Unfortunately, just telling us our cinemetography sucks, doesn't really help us much.

We're all learning, just like you. We haven't had the DVX long, either, so any tips, or tricks of the trade would also be appreciated. Thanks a lot.
