I just recieved my DVX-100b today and couldn't be more thrilled. However, for some reason i thought that the Barry Green DVX book + DVD would actually ship with the camera and not with the rebate weeks later.

My dilemma= I'm leaving for Africa in less than a month to shoot a couple of docs and NEED the book and DVD asap to learn as much as possible before I leave. This is a charity project and my budget is already ridiculously stretched, so i don't have the $75 to drop on something that I've already basically paid for but haven't received yet...

Can I borrow your book & DVD? I know that at least a few of you on this forum are already masters at the DVX and have probably set these materials on the shelf for just a time like this, to help a brother out.

Please let me know if you can help, or have a suggestion!

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure the book is supposed to come with the camera, not later. Where did you buy? If it's a legit dealer you should be able to get a book toot sweat.

It used to, but now Panasonic has changed their shipping pattern; they are shipping the cameras direct from Japan now so the books don't get inserted in the box by Panasonic US; instead you get a congratulatory letter that tells you how to file for your rebate and get the book/dvd and magic bullet software sent to you. At least, that's how I understand it.

The guy at EVS recommended the Lenmar 5400mAh batteries and gave me a pretty good deal on them, I hope those work out...
