By reading through a lot of the posts here, I have not found whether you need a third party import device to import footage into your NLE. I am so used to the DVCAM workflow but I'm wanting to make the switch to P2 only. So I know you were not supposed to use your camera to import before, but can you with the P2 cards?
Also, is there a weekend conference or book or anything that spells out the whole workflow process for the P2 world? Again, I'm completely new to all of it. Thanks!
