Hi, another newbie question...

I love to load up my lens with ND's so i shoot wide open and also use naf filters like tobacco grads. Problem is I don't have much lettuce to spend on a mattebox like vocas et al (usd$1500 approx). Anyone tried the new Cokin mattebox, or any other suggestions?

Shoot with your heart, post with your head.

Hadn't even seen the Cokin - not bad for the price and you get the option of rotating filters.

www.hysonfilms.com - Joel has built a great mattebox for under $300 / no rotating filters.

www.geardear.com - a polystyrene-type foam product but actually looks really cool and I've heard good things about it - around $300 I think

www.indiesnap.com - aluminum mattebox for around $200 if I remember - you cannot fold the flags, but it's very lightweight.

www.redrockmicro.com - these guys do stellar work and don't cheat on their products - the mattebox isn't out yet but it looks to be a winner for around $500

hope those options help a bit. God bless the little guys and their talent in making these :)
