Hmmm....due to this challenge...I agree.....No more frames until release...Muah haha!

I look at this forum as the best place to learn how to improve myself that there is, so I love to get feedback on stuff. My goals are to hit the festival circuit running with this, and get a little recognition to try and get funding for a feature. I have one level of seperation between me and Anthony Hopkins, so if I can get some funding, and write a killer feature script based on this, I would approach him to be the psychiatrist. I would then use an HVX, and be able to pay everyone, which would be fun.

My budget out of pocket for this is 2000.00 It will go up, when I buy some stuff for tonights shoot.

Larry, I would actually love to DP for you sometime. I like the experience.

I need to get a locked cut to Leo Gardini around September 2nd, so I will be editing like crazy! I will keep you updated. LAST SHOTS TONIGHT! :costumed-smiley-047

Holy COW Nice shot! Dude, you're getting him a cut by Sep 2. DANG! I have a Sep 1 deadline to have Smuggler's to our composer, but I finished shooting that like 4 weeks ago, lol.

Hey, Matt, what did you end up using for blood?

I mixed a big batch of light corn syrup and dark corn syrup, 3 vials of red food coloring, 4 drops of blue food coloring, and hershey's chocolate syrup. I used some ben Nye Products for mouth blood, and some thicker store blood to grip the knife when it moved.

You are one ambitious son of a gun... good luck man :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

That is all too true. I will edit by feel, which to me, means making sure the cuts feel natural and don't draw attention to themselves. I will try to make them invisible and allow the story to flow and build the emotions I am aiming for. It is hard to feel them all without the music, but I think it will work out well. I can't wait to watch this thing with the music!

It would be cool, though Brandon would be mad that I didn't ask him...but I'm sure he'll get over it. Maybe I'll offer him the 2nd unit position

Unfortunately, all I could offer you would be gas money (maybe) and a couch to crash on while you're up here. But your work is great and it would definitely go a long way to improving my projects.

By the way, we may be heading down your way in a month or so...I'll let you know and maybe we can "do lunch" (You know like those Hollywood snobs always do :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG) )

I'm also really anxious to hear what Leo does with the music...what a phenomenal composer he is!!

Peace,
Larry

One big thing I've found helpful in my several years of editing is to get "in the mood" Throw in some temp music, or just play some music in Itunes or something while you're editing the scenes to get a feel... the cuts must be natural, but must also move the scene in the emotional direction that you want it to go. And, find out what your tendancies are... I tend to cut things too quickly, therefore I know when I come to a more emotional slow scene I need to work against my natural instinct and allow the "moments" to happen, and slow everything down.

Sorry for the rant, but maybe some of it is helpful.
