Matt Sconce- Stricken

Good luck man... I understand your pain on casting mishaps... had a few people bail on us for some non-speaking roles in our last film... we were able to make do, and I am sure you'll find a way!

CRAZINESS!

Our Lead for the Father just had a blood clot near his heart and almost died. He is in the hospital and is out of the game for the shoot. He is a great guy and only 23, and in great shape. It is so sad for him. :crybaby:

This leaves us casting a new father. We have already had all the rehearsals for those scenes so this will get interesting. We do have a great actor in mind though, so at least that is okay.

Talk to you all soon -Matt

Oh, and that is me in the middle of the picture on the bottom of our cast page:

Brett's the guy in trouble. please keep in in your thoughts or prayers.

Brett is doing better now. He will have to have two ribs removed, as they discovered he had two too many and that the ribs were putting pressure on the arteries. He will have surgery the 21st.

Our other actor is onboard and is really good, so things will go okay.

Thanks! We start filming August 18th and should be wrapped by the 22nd. I just had an awesome time at the AOF festival. I got to train with Ninja Master Sephen K. Hayes and sit in at the showing of Nine to Five Ninja. I loved meeting the guys from DVXuser. Congrats to Brandon Rice for his movie taking best supporting actress in a short. And congrats to Smithhouse for his win with Vigilantes! I also must say that Blaine's film was great!

I will be entering Striken for the next AOF and a hopefully kick everyone's butt with a feature action film. I have it in the works and it is looking very good.

Here is a picture of my two stunt guys/ninjas and I at the AOF Festival.

Here is a picture of us with the real Ninja Master Stephen K. Hayes. It was mind blowing being in the same room with the guy. He and his wife are the real deal.

Hey guys! Tonight is my second to last rehearsals with the actors. It is rehearsing the biggest scene we have so we will see how it goes. The m35 adapter comes in tomorrow. Leo Gardini has inspired me to try and compose some things for future stuff. I figure if I learn now, maybe in a year, I can be scoring my own films.

It is all done on Reason 3 for PC and I have had the program for two days.

Post some of your M35 tests if you can, dude.
Will do. I am having issues exporting to a small file with quicktime from Premier Pro 2. Everytime I do, it appears 4:3. As soon as I work it out, I will put some up.

I'd most definitely like to see some test footage as well!

This is the first thing I did with the M35 so it is not creative at all. I did not have the detail high enough in the camera. I will be doing some lighing tests and will post that footage later. It should be much more beneficial.http://www.dvxuser6.com/uploaded/10327/1154560592.wmv

I need someone who can host stuff that is 40-120 mb to really show some nice samples.

that adapter sure has a sweet look to it.
I agree...more AWESOME footage will be up tonight of my dog chillin out by a tree. I shot it with a 50mm f1.4. My settings were
Detail +7
VDetail+7
Detail Coring+7
Color Temp -3 and then the normal setting for F5. I shot it in letterbox. We will see how it comes out. Check back tonight!

I shot it with a 50mm Nikon f/1.4. My settings were
Detail +7
VDetail+7

Color Temp -3 and then the normal setting for F5. I shot it in letterbox.

All Indoor, I forgot to set the detail high, but it still looks nice. So Indoor shots are just the F5 setting.

Screen shots from Lighting Diagrams will be done next week.

This is also updated on my first page.

An update on the storyboard. I am almost half way through. It is amazing to me that storyboarding is directing. I am planning my angles, lines, framing etc. I never really thought about it before, but this is incredibly complex. I want to make this a work of art, and make sure I take the time on it. It is looking good! I will post more updates as i go.

Yeah, those shots are lookin' real nice there!

Thanks Brandon. That means a lot coming from you. I must say that the trailer for Smuggler's Ransom was awesome and inspiring to me. I thought it rocked. Do any of you DVX'ers out there know any "Ghetto monitors" that I could use to help me pull focus? Would a 18 inch normal television work? have any of you ever used a T.v Before? Anyway. I will keep you all updated as I go. -Matt

Oh, our website has been updated:

Thanks for the kind words Matt! I am very happy you enjoyed the trailer.

In regard to monitors. If all you're looking for is something to help you focus, I'd say a normal TV would work fine. If you're looking for lighting and color, I'd pick up a production monitor.
