Matt Sconce- Stricken

Congratulations on scoring Leo for your score :) He is a true professional and will work very hard to give you the best music for your film

Just don't wear him out, I intend to use him on some other projects soon :)

congrats on scoring the great locations too....for me that was the most difficult part of my HeroFest entry.

I am definitely excited leo is working with me!! I loved his music for "Leap of Faith".

:) I'll make sure we don't tire him out too. :)

Locations were a huge worry just because I have never tried to get a restaurant to let me film before. Terri, the owner of Orbit Cafe is a great guy and is not charging us a penny.

The auditioning for the lead went great. We have our lead. Her name is Stephanie French and she did really well. I believe she will bring what we needed to the part and she took direction very well. Here is her picture. She is very excited to be on board!

The rest of the casting takes place on Saturday with some follow-ups afterward.

We have cast almost all of our roles as of today and I am getting excited. We have some amazing talent in this one! We start rehearsals on the 8th.

We are cast and rolling! We have our first rehearsal tonight! We will do a read through and let everyone get to know eachother. Ordered the Micro35 adapter and a 50mm f/1.4 nikon lens today. We are rocking!

Our first two rehearsals have done two things. The first thing they have done is make me really excited. our talent is great! The second thing they have done is make me extremely nervous. Our talent is wonderful and I don't want to mess anything up on my end.

I'm Out.

Stricken has grown, and will continue to grow. It is coming along nicely. I am still making it, but will not be entering the Horror-Fest contest. It is getting big and pretty. Up to 10 minutes now and we will see where it ends up. I just bought all the special effects make-up so I am excited to start filming in August and have Leo compose a rockin and spooky score! Good luck all! Keep checking back at the webpage I just made to see its progress.

In my above post, I said I was out. I am no longer in Horror fest in a competitive nature. I might enter a trailer just for fun. That is why I added the website address I made.

Spidey, your banners are awesome!

Well, this is coming along great! Our two knives came in...the shard Chef Knife, and the plastic one that I hoped would work as a double for the fast moving scenes. I think they work! Als0, the wounds and special effects make-up came in! I have someone who is going to permanently be doing wardrobe for us, which takes some stress off, and the Micro35 adapter is coming soon. The 50mm f1.4 Nikon Lens is sitting by my computer and making me drool. i want to use it! Final schedules were given to the locations, and the optometrist made brown contacts for our little girl to match our lead.
Our website http://www.strickenthemovie.com is getting a lot of traffic.

Leo Gardini's work is amazing! If you have not gone to his site to listen to it, click on his name on our main page and check out his work. His piece "The ressurection of Jesus Christ" blew my mind. I am so excited he is on the project.

As soon as Nine to Five Ninja is up on the IMDB, I will be able to post the progress of Stricken.

I have a question for all of you out there. I have a lot of "flickering lightning" shadows and such when the actors are inside. How would you go about simulating these "off camera" lightning flashes to get that real feel? Would you do it post production or on set and how?

Thanks!

CRAZINESS!

Our Lead for the Father just had a blood clot near his heart and almost died. He is in the hospital and is out of the game for the shoot. He is a great guy and only 23, and in great shape. It is so sad for him. :crybaby:

This leaves us casting a new father. We have already had all the rehearsals for those scenes so this will get interesting. We do have a great actor in mind though, so at least that is okay.

Talk to you all soon -Matt

Oh, and that is me in the middle of the picture on the bottom of our cast page:
