Am I going to have much trouble matching the basic look between a GH3, an AC160A, and an AF100A. The GH3 and the AF100A will be using Lumix lenses. If I set the cameras on their default Scene files, will they match up well in post?
You can make the AF100A and AC160A look extremely close, if not identical, to each other. Start with the downloadable scene files on Panasonic Broadcast's site. Matching the GH3 is another question entirely, I don't know how close it can be made to look like the others.
Thank you...
Do you have any idea which scene files I should load into each camera? Or should I try that link Tired posted and use the same settings you posted in each cam?
Well, the choice of scene files is based on how you want the footage to look. Look through the scene files, they have sample pictures attached that show how the scene files affect the picture.
I found the flat setting on the Pansonic site but I cannot get the AF100 to read the SCENE1.TXT file. It fails every time. I have no such problem with the files from your book. I am on a Mac. I followed the instructions faithfully and went through them several times. Why do these files not transfer properly, whereas the ones from your book work fine.
If you're using the ones from Panasonic.com/broadcast, they most definitely should work in any USA model of the camera. If you've successfully installed scene1.txt from my book, have you tried just downloading and copying the scene1.txt file over the book's scene1.txt and then loading it? It should work.
Sorry, it is not working now with yours either. When I go to Card Read, it says card read failed.
Here's my procedure with a brand new AF100A US
format card
write the F1 Scene 1 to the card
take out of the camera
Place it in a card reader connected to my MacPro
copy over SCENE1.TXT to the card from your CDROM
place card back in camera, and read card. It says it failed.
Obviously I am missing something here!
I would suspect a mismatch between your camera model, and the scene file's expectations. The scene files on the Panasonic site are for the USA model. Try writing out your scene files from the camera and then examine the scene1.txt file, and look at the model number. Compare that to the model number in the downloaded scene file and see if they're the same.
