I just got the Panasonic dvx and don't know anything on how to use it. All i know is that i have an eye for film making. Here is my first question. What is Master Ped? How does this affect the "film Look" of the dvx?

Think of the Master Pedestal as your 'Black' setting.
Experiment 'in-camera' to see the effect it has on your images as you adjust it. I would highly reccomend getting the following Book/DVD:

It's worth every cent. Especially if you're new to the camera. You shouldn't be without it.

Barry's book is definitely worth it.
Also, there used to be an article that Jarred wrote on Master Ped, it's burried in the archives. When you look at the articles page, the link actually goes to the Nancy Schreiber interview.
