F55: Marco Polo Trailer

You did say Macro Polo and not Marco Polo.
 
Marco polo looks not bad. Sony look is there but looks good.

By the way Nate I see you selling F55? I have seen you talking about going F65 or Alexa. Are you upgrading to them or downgrading to FS7?
 
I think Nate plus Amira is going to be a powerful combination. If he can do what he does with Sony F55 - with the alexa's rich color palette, beautiful skin tones, and wonderful highlight handling - I'm very much looking forward to what he can do. He's going to sell a ton of Amiras.
 
I watched it and didn't mind it at all.

I hate the Sony look as much as the next guy, but honestly, in Marco Polo or even Deliver Us From Evil, I really don't spot it much... if at all.
 
Watched the first episode, and so far... the production value is great. Not exactly digging the show, but it looks fine. For a historical drama like this, the Sony look is a little strong and distracting but not terrible. I'm just surprised they wouldn't go for the Alexa, would have given the show a much more cinematic vibe. That said, it's only one aspect of the show and it's certainly not a deal breaker.
 
NY Times review of the show was pretty devastating.

Best line in the review: "And just when you think it is escaping its sexism, along comes, in Episode 5, a ridiculous hallucinogenic orgy scene that looks as if it were filmed by a teenage boy who had just discovered the special-effects buttons in iMovie."

Well, I guess we watch part of an episode to see how the F55 holds up.
