Manual White Balance - Values?

hi,

i would like to know if there is the posibillity to see the actual white-setting in KELVIN in the display or at least after performing an manual white-balance on switch A or B?

On Preset the camera claims 3.2 or 5.6...

But why it doesnt show it in manual white balancing? would help me to see the KELVIN values but i didnt found an option to make it visible?! Seems impossible or does anybody have an idea?

That's something I've been wondering about myself.

It would be great if we could manually set a specific kelvin value in camera.

I dont need to set a specific kelvin value at all... but i would like to see at least the Kelvin-value the camera has chosen after perfoming white balance.

but it seems to be impossible as matt already said... sadly

The camera won't give you an exact Kelvin value for manual white balance. I wish it did.
What I do instead is use the vectorscope. I point the camera at whatever I'm using for a white balance and activate the vectorsope. If the dot is in the middle of the graticule, the white balance is fine. If it's more to the 11:00 position, it's too warm. More to the 5:00 position, it's too cool.

Would I be right in saying the auto white balance bases its setting on the vectorsope?

If you're talking about the ATW function, I don't know. I'm not sure how that works exactly.

My guess is that you're close. It probably examines the entire image and calibrates itself by centering all values on the center of the graticule.

But again, just a guess.

Sadly , you can always tune in with colorchannels in post.

Nice tip. Thanks!
